Media Library Access

From a Network Attached Storage (NAS)
To access your media library, the Sitecom Media Controller automatically finds DLNA certified Digital Media Servers (DMS) such as network attached storage (NAS) devices* in your home network. The Sitecom Home Storage Center is an example of such a DLNA-certified NAS that is able to be accessed from your Android device via the Sitecom Media Controller.

From a Windows PC
There is also a lot of software available to turn your Windows PC into a Digital Media Server (DMS). Some of these software packages are DLNA certified but also non-certified software such as Windows Media Player functions as DMS and works with the Sitecom Media Controller. This means, if you have Windows Media Player, the Sitecom Media Controller lets you access content from your Windows computer and display it on your Android device where you can browse, select and play it easily.

* Please check the website of the DLNA organization at www.dlna.org/products to see if your product is a DLNA-certified Digital Media Server (DMS) or Digital media Renderer (DMR).

  • Make sure that all devices are connected to your home network
  • Turn on media sharing in Windows Media Player
  • Click the arrow below the Library tab, and then click Media Sharing
  • In the Media Sharing dialog box, select the Share my media check box
